Early Sunday morning trains for Liverpool Rock n Roll Half Marathon

EXTRA TRAINS: To accommodate the high volume of people coming into the city for the BT Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon this Sunday, Merseyrail will run extra trains on both lines at the beginning of the day.

First trains will leave: Southport at 6.58am, Hunts Cross at 7.06am, West Kirby at 7.01am, New Brighton at 6.53am and Hooton at 6.59am.

All of these trains will stop at every station, with the exception of Lime Street and Moorfields. People travelling on the Wirral line are advised to get off at James Street station, which is an 8 minute walk from the start line in the Albert Dock. Northern line passengers should get off at Liverpool Central, 14 minutes’ walk away.

The normal Sunday timetable will start after these additional services, with trains stopping at Lime Street and Moorfields.

Trains on the additional services as well as those on the Sunday timetable will all have six carriages, meaning twice as much capacity as they usually do on Sundays.
