Great to see that so many of you, especially those disappointed after the Four Villages Half Marathon, have decided to run the Village Bakery Half in Wrexham next month instead. Although there was a big surge in entries recently, you can still enter at
Bake and take
it’s cheaper than Helsby and the course is flat. Certainly PB potential. And you will be presented with a loaf of bread at the finish. I have done this a few times and will be doing it again this year.
Joe McArdle, Neil Diamond and Lloyd Ithell – the latest batch of Village Road Runners Hoodies have arrived!!
We are looking to produce an anniversary running jacket late summer to celebrate our club’s international tour record. These will incorporate part of the design from our new flag and have your own name emblazoned on the front. I am ordering a couple to give an idea what they will look like. They are lightweight, mesh lined, breathable and come in at about £26 including the full colour club graphics.
There will be a long run this coming Sunday leaving Sheldrakes 10am prompt for a 15 miler. I hope to be there myself if I can shake off this cold. This will be a great run in preparation for both the village Bakery and for Warsaw. Get this under your belt to give you confidence for the forthcoming races. There will be a short run this coming Sunday with Dave leaving the Village Hotel for a Riverpark run at 11am.
Dave and Neil are both keen to build on the success of our pre Christmas culinary efforts with the emphasis this time on the savoury rather than the sweet. Consequently there will be a savoury night after out Tuesday run a week on Tuesday (the first Tuesday in February). Starbucks is staying open late for us again and thanks to the Village Hotel, Mark and Dave have obtained special permission for us to take our own food along. So come on, let’s see if we can match the enthusiasm shown last time round – both for the baking and the eating!!
