V.R.R. Tour News – Autumn 2018
Hot on the heels of Ibiza, I’m delighted to announce that the 2018 Autumn Tour will take us to Lausanne in Switzerland. This is a big event on Sunday 28th October; comprising a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km run and even a 10km Nordic walking race. Add in glorious views of Lake Geneva, the Alps, historic Lausanne city centre and the International Olympic Museum, we have all the makings of another great trip (and hey…. not too cool either – average day time high temperature is 15C).
So as usual …….. here’s all the vitals to kick start your tour experience.
See full details (in English) and on line entry available now at https://en.lausanne-marathon.com/
Capacities, as always, are limited in each of the race categories; so to avoid disappointment, it’s strongly recommended you register for your race BEFORE booking travel and any accommodation.
Race entry fees are: 52 CHF (=£39) for half marathon, 42 CHF (=£31) for 10km and 80 CHF (=£59) for marathon.
Fees include medal and technical t-shirt (long arm) plus free transport to start of Half Marathon (La Tour-de-Pielz).

Depending upon your length of stay, you could also consider holiday packages through the usual tour operators and also websites such as ebookers.com and expedia.co.uk. However, please note the latter may not always offer direct flights.
Regular trains link Geneva and Lausanne; journey time being just over 50 mins.
Return ticket costs approx. £16
Plentiful hotels in Lausanne centre.
2 star Ibis currently £235 for 2 persons sharing a room for 3 nights.
This includes a free ticket for use of public transport during your stay (same offered by most other hotels in area).
Insurance & Medical Assistance
Like any holiday, don’t forget to arrange adequate insurance for your trip.
In addition, if you haven’t got one already, you should also travel with a valid / up to date, European Health Insurance Card (formerly the E111) – see https://www.gov.uk/european-health-insurance-card
