Jo Blogs: Thursdayโ€™s Thurstaston Run

Good turnout again for the Thurstaston summer run..judging from comments en route this is a tough but popular run ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ.

So 30 of us took off leaving the country park along the Wirral way towards the dungeons. This was a tricky part as the pathway was a little overgrown with nettles and brambles ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟbut it was an excuse to walk and wriggle past..

Then it was uphill and up steps to the top. ..phew that’s a hard one for the legs!! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

But of course what goes up has to come down and we followed the paths downhill stopping to take in breathtaking views of Wirral and across to Wales …no boats but horses and cows ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ„๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ..

How no one got lost was down to team work !… Dave and Neil making sure we were all staying together and going the right way ๐Ÿ˜† . Once we were back on the Wirral Way it was a straight run back to the visitor centre and ‘picnic time’.

We definitely missed the ๐ŸŒž sun as the wind picked up ๐Ÿ’จmaking it feel cold especially after getting warm running๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ.

That didn’t put off the hardcore VRR family having their picnic (although we were freezing).. plenty of sharing of snacks and treats ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿช๐Ÿทsorry we couldn’t manage to eat Brian’s cake ๐Ÿฐ it looked lovely but we were too full!!

Not a late finish tonight …tired legs soon get cold. But hopefully next time at Thurstaston ‘summer’ will join us for our run and picnic ๐Ÿ˜Š

NB the four walkers (and dog!) also enjoyed putting the world to rights on our walk!๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyone not able/wanting to run always welcome to join us! Sharon
