Jo Blogs: Storeton – the one with the cows….

Oh what a night πŸ‘for the last Storeton run for 2019…πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ•πŸΎπŸƒβ€β™€οΈand what a turnout..

44 runners and 2 four legged friends left the Seven Stars at 7pm and pounded the pavementsπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ towards Brimstage.

Once past the Manor it was downhill all the way to Brimstage at this point you know that coming back it’s uphill πŸ˜’πŸ™ˆ. Great running through the mainly traffic free lanes to Storeton: lots of banter, laughter πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ and jokes along the way and then across the fields up to the woods..

But then …disaster…πŸ‘€ there were monsters in the fieldπŸ‘Ή yes there were great big brown and white ones…called cows πŸ„πŸ‚πŸ„πŸ‚ who put them there in our way..? So it was a case of picking your moment and getting a wiggle on through the herd…They looked quite intrigued by the sight of such a motley crew of runners πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ on their patch.

So after the uphill stretch through the cows πŸ„πŸ‚πŸ„ it’s where you chose to take the long or short route home.

Both are challenging as there are some who like a fast pace or push on up the hills and some who go steady to do the longer distance. Whatever the choice the good thing is you are never on your own. πŸ‘¬πŸ‘

So for the longer run its was nettle jumping up to the woods.🌲🌳🌿..then through to Marsh Lane and a good pace down Lever causeway ..Neil then wanted to go the scenic route…definitely too many holidays πŸ– looking at beautiful scenery!! Didn’t anyone tell him he was in Wirral not Italy 🏞 ?? And it was longer!

Back up hill and towards home through more fields full of monsters πŸ‘ΉπŸ‘Ή / cows πŸ‚πŸ„

Dave was on form so he was first through the gate but oops ..without his trainer πŸ‘Ÿ which was stuck in the mud πŸ’©πŸ’© so he had to put his muddy foot πŸ‘£ back in his muddy trainer …yuk!! πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

Of course we didn’t laugh πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£.

It wasn’t long before he had to stop again to sort out the extra mud cushioning he was running on.

This clearly gave him a spring in his step as we had to put our foot down πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ to get back before dark..πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

We made it back to be greeted by shouts of ‘well done’ “great running’ πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ secretly they probably wanted to say…’what took you so long?’ ‘We are starving’…

Judging by the fantastic turnout this has to be one of the most popular runs and in tradition it was off to the Seven Stars for drinks πŸ₯‚πŸ»πŸΊ or the Three Stags for food πŸ”πŸ»β˜•πŸ² ..

The perfect end to a perfect evening VRR run.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 😊
